Yellowknife Culture Center
Light, land, and culture shape this building. Inspired by local sky-watching traditions, each space captures a unique quality of light—from daylight to moonlight to the northern lights. Computational design ensures comfort and sustainability, while thermal mass, natural ventilation, PV panels, and a biomass energy system create an efficient, eco-friendly environment. Radiant floors and walls, rammed earth walls, timber beams, and copper cladding merge structure with craft. A place where light, land, and culture come alive.
